Stephanie Stone is an award-winning science journalist who covers biodiversity and the people working to understand and sustain it. A seasoned writer and video producer with more than 20 years of experience communicating scientific information to general audiences, Stone brings both a background in anthropology and a deep appreciation for the natural world to her work. She is the co-founder of bioGraphic, an editorially independent magazine that publishes natural history and sustainability stories from around the world.

In addition to writing and editing for bioGraphic, Stone has also written about science for publications including Scientific American, Hakai, Discover, Cosmos, and the San Francisco Chronicle, has lectured on science communication at Stanford University, and has executive produced a number of award-winning films. She has served as a judge for the International Wildlife Film Festival and as a Commissioner for the Jackson Wild Media Lab.
